New advice telling people what to do in an acid attack has been released by the NHS. The three-point plan comes after a rise in acid attacks across the UK. September saw another six people injured in London.
In the new guide, the NHS outline the ‘three Rs’
• Report – Dial 999
• Remove – Contaminated clothing carefully
• Rinse – Immediately in running water
Leading doctors point out that the first ten minutes after an acid attack are crucial to helping the victim, however by following their advice you can limit the amount of injury they sustain.
