First aid training for children – Boy’s action saves mum’s life

First aid training for children – Boy’s action saves mum’s life

A great lesson from East Midlands Ambulance Service sharing a call from an 8 year old boy whose quick reactions and calmness under pressure helped to save his mum’s life. Realising that his mum couldn’t speak and needed help, Mitchell called 999 and was able to provide information to the call handler.

Mitchell didn’t know but his mum was suffering a rare double stroke.

His actions and bravery were rewarded with a medal and certificate from EastMidlands Ambulance Service.
